Dental Tool Handle — PPSU Autoclave Cycles

Application

Dental hand-piece handles, mirror handles, and probe handles are autoclaved between every patient. Polycarbonate handles haze and crack after 200-300 cycles. PPSU handles last 1000+ cycles.

Specification

• PPSU rod 25 – 40 mm diameter × 200 mm length, machined to ergonomic profile
• Natural amber color throughout — autoclaving doesn't darken or yellow
• Surface finish polished for instrument-grade aesthetic
• Optional knurling, grooves, or insert molding for steel attachment points

Machining Notes

PPSU machines well with carbide tools at moderate speeds. Avoid coolants containing aggressive solvents (some chlorinated coolants cause stress cracking). Water-based coolant is preferred.
